Fresh Jalapeno Hummus

Recipe - Hummus


Slightly spicy but very delicious appetizer.

Heat Level: 3


1 cup garbanzo beans (drained)
2 fresh medium jalapenos (remove seeds for less spicy dish)
2 tablespoons tahini
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 1/2 tablespoons vinegar
2 1/2 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon curry powder
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper (adjust up or down to taste)


Mix all ingredients into blender or food processor and blend until smooth.  If needed, add water until desired consisency is reached.  Garnish with fresh sliced jalapenos and serve with pitas, tortillas or chips.
