I have always been a huge fan of Asian Sliders, so I whipped up my own version using Just Enough Heat’s Asian Ginger BBQ Sauce. If preferred these Sweet Asian Chicken Sliders can easily be made using pork. These are great for game day or whenever finger sandwiches are desired. I made them for a Chief’s Football party and they were a big hit. I am sure they would work just as well as for a family dinner. If these are too sweet for your taste, simply reduce the amount of marmalade and BBQ sauce used.
SWEET ASIAN CHICKEN SLIDERS:
- 1 bag (14 oz) coleslaw mix
- 4 medium green onions, chopped (1/4 cup)
- 1/3 cup orange marmalade
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar or white wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil – 1/4 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 packages (12 pk) Hawaiian Rolls
- 3 cups cooked pulled chicken or pork
- 1 bottle of Asian Ginger BBQ Sauce
- 8 slices swiss cheese
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 Tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 Tablespoon sesame seeds
SWEET ASIAN CHICKEN SLIDERS DIRECTIONS:
Mix together coleslaw, onions, marmalade, vinegar, oil, ginger & salt in a bowl & refrigerate for at least 30 mins. Preheat oven to 350. Cut rolls in half by length & place bottoms into a 9×13 baking dish. Mix chicken with 2/3 cup of BBQ sauce. Layer meat, cheese & coleslaw on top of rolls & then place the top back on. Use serrated blade to cut in between each roll. Mix butter, soy sauce, 2 Tablespoons of BBQ Sauce & sesame seeds. Baste sauce evenly onto the tops of the rolls. Bake for 20 mins until golden brown. Serve hot.
